Google Play Requirements

What is Google Play's closed testing requirement?
Google Play requires personal developer accounts created after November 13, 2023 to complete a closed testing phase before applying for production access. Your app must be tested by at least 12 real users for 14 consecutive days. Organizational accounts and personal accounts created before that date are exempt from this requirement.
How many testers do I actually need?
Google Play's minimum is 12 active testers who remain opted-in for the full 14-day period. If even one tester drops out and your count falls below 12, Google rejects your production access application and requires you to wait another 14 days before reapplying - not just a pause. We provide 25 testers to ensure you stay well above the threshold regardless of any dropout.
How long does the entire process take?
The testing cycle runs for 16 days from start to finish. Testers are assigned within 6 hours of purchase, the 14-day Google-required window runs back-to-back, and after it completes you submit the production access form. Google typically approves the form within 24–48 hours.
Do I need to do closed testing for every app?
Yes - closed testing is required for each new app seeking production access, regardless of how many apps you've previously published. Once you have production access, you can update that specific app freely without any further testing.
What happens after the 14 days?
After 14 days with 12+ active testers, you fill out a production access form in Google Play Console. We provide exact answers to include in the form. Google reviews it within 24–48 hours (occasionally up to 7 days) and grants production access so you can publish publicly.

Testing Process

Will my 14-day counter reset if I upload an update?
No. Uploading app updates during the testing period does not reset the 14-day counter. Testers automatically receive the updated version and continue testing. Many developers ship bug fixes mid-cycle to show Google they're actively improving the app in the Google Play Console.
Do the testers actually use my app?
Yes. All 25 testers are real people from around the world who install, use, and interact with your app throughout the full 16-day period. They test core functionality, navigation, user flows, and provide genuine feedback that meets Google Play's closed testing requirements.
Can you test non-English apps?
Absolutely. We test apps in all languages - Vietnamese, German, Russian, Portuguese, Chinese, Arabic, Hindi, and many more. Testing focuses on app functionality, user experience, and technical performance - not text comprehension. All feedback reports are provided in English.
Do testers need to be from a specific country?
No. Geographic location doesn't affect Google Play's closed testing requirement. Testers can be from anywhere in the world. This is why we have a global network of 50,000+ community members - we always have testers available across time zones.
Can you test games, social apps, or complex apps?
Yes. We test all Android app categories - games, social platforms, productivity tools, e-commerce apps, enterprise software, and more. For apps requiring login credentials or special setup, include instructions when you submit your app and we'll ensure testers can access all features.

Our Service

Why provide 25 testers instead of just 12?
Google's production access approval considers many factors beyond just headcount. Across thousands of apps we have seen go through this process, we have never seen one with just 12 testers get approved - even when all 12 were active every single day. If a tester drops out and your count falls below 12 at any point, Google does not pause the clock. They reject your production access application outright and ask you to wait another 14 days before you can reapply. Even one dropout can set your launch back by weeks. We assign 25 testers to keep you well above that threshold at all times, and to ensure we can stand behind our production access guarantee with no room for error.
What's included in the feedback reports?
You receive comprehensive reports covering app functionality results, usability observations, bug reports and technical issues, performance analysis (loading times, crashes), and the exact answers to submit in Google Play's production access form. Reports are downloadable from your dashboard.
What does the money-back guarantee cover?
If Google denies production access after you complete our testing cycle and follow our guidance, we refund you in full - no questions asked. Our 99.9% success rate means this almost never happens. The guarantee does not cover rejections due to policy violations unrelated to testing.
How does your service differ from your free community app?
The paid service gives you 25 professional testers assigned within 6 hours, a production access guarantee, detailed reports, and form answers. The free community app requires earning 60 credits by testing 3 other apps first - testers may take longer to join and there's no guarantee or detailed reports.
How do you handle confidential apps?
All professional testers in our paid service are under comprehensive NDAs. Your app content, features, and business information stay within our trusted testing team. Testers are legally bound to confidentiality and focus solely on functional testing.

Troubleshooting

Do I need to test again when I update my published app?
No. Once you have production access for an app, you can publish updates freely without any additional closed testing. The 14-day period is only required once - for the initial production access application.
Do I need separate testing for each of my apps?
Yes. Each app requires its own 14-day closed testing period. Production access is granted per app. However, once granted for your developer account via one app, subsequent apps may have streamlined requirements, though closed testing is still mandatory.
How long after testing can I publish my app?
After completing the 16-day cycle and submitting the production access form, Google typically approves it within 24–48 hours. During busy periods it can take up to 7 days. We provide the exact answers for the form to ensure fast approval.
