We Hit Google Play's
Wall. Then We Tore It Down.
The Problem That Started It All
The Challenge
In November 2023, Google introduced a requirement that every new developer account must run a closed testing period with at least 12 real testers for 14 consecutive days before gaining production access. We hit this wall personally while publishing our own app, Duho - a marketplace where people could rent shops. We somehow pushed through, got live on Google Play, and immediately realised: every independent developer would face exactly this same problem. There was no good solution. So we decided to build one.
Our Answer
We launched a free community app on March 14, 2024 - a credit-based system where developers test each other's apps to earn their own spot. The community now uses Packs: groups of 16 developers working together for 16 days, with daily accountability and gamified progress to keep everyone engaged. It grew to 50,000+ members. Then in May 2025, we launched our website - bringing the paid testing service online for everyone: 25 testers in 6 hours, guaranteed production access. Both paths lead to the same result - your app live on Google Play.
How We Got Here
From the first line of code on February 1, 2024, to 50,000+ developers helped worldwide.
Building Begins
We wrote the first line of code. The idea was straightforward: build the testing community we wished had existed when we were developers trying to get past Google Play's wall.
Live on Google Play
43 days after starting, the Testers Community app went live on Google Play - a credit-based system where developers test each other's apps to earn their own spot in the queue. We had no idea what came next.
Our Very First User
Two days after launch, someone signed up. That moment made everything real - a developer out there needed exactly what we'd built. We still remember it.
Private Testing Launched
We launched our private testing plan inside the app. On the same day, someone became our very first paying customer.
1,000 Members
Less than three months after launch, the community crossed 1,000 members. Word was spreading organically, and developers from across the world were finding us on their own.
10,000 Members
The community crossed 10,000 members. Developers kept finding us, and they kept coming back.
Website Launched
We launched our professional service website - bringing the paid testing plan online for the world. 25 verified testers, a 16-day cycle, and a full production access guarantee.
50,000 Members & Counting
The free community crossed 50,000 members. Developers from 180+ countries, all helping each other ship apps - far bigger than anything we'd imagined two years earlier on that February morning.

“Every developer deserves a fair shot at publishing their app - regardless of their team size, budget, or who they know.”
The barrier to getting your app in front of users should be about the quality of your app - not about how many people you know willing to test it for two weeks. That belief is why we exist, and it guides every decision we make.
